Named after Captain Horatio Hornblower whose brass knocker adorns the outside of the bedroom door, the Captain’s Room is a double room with a hotel-quality bed to ensure both firmness and comfort for a perfect night’s rest. In addition there are hypo-allergenic pillows and duvet. This is strictly a non-smoking room.
The en-suite has a heated towel rail and complementary environmentally sensitive toiletries from the ‘Out of Eden’ Basic Earth® range.
There is ample wardrobe and draw space to accommodate any length of stay, together with a hairdryer. As the house name would suggest, laundry facilities are available with prices on request.
This double-aspect room has views over the North Downs including Pilgrim’s Way, an ancient route for those on a pilgrimage from London to Canterbury Cathedral, and views across to Paddlesworth Church, whose village is recorded in the Doomsday Book. Woodpeckers, blue tits, chaffinches and wrens can regularly be seen in the rear garden with buzzards occasionally observed over the open countryside.
